Subject: TBI Brain injury, your story ....

Ken, I was just reading your story about your injury from the TBI group (Traumatic Brain Injury Group) on Yahoo. My wife (of 29 years) Sharon, suffered cardiac arrest 3 years ago this Aug 2nd while vacationing in Florida. We had only been there for a few hours when she suddenly with no warning dropped dead in a grocery store. I performed CPR the best I knew at the time till the Paramedics got there. To make a long story short, they got her heart started and she was sent to a stage one Cardiac hospital.

The next day she looked like Terri Schiavo and they did not have any hope for her at all. The Lord told me not to listen to man but he will heal her. So with that everything they told me that was negative about her condition, which was everything, I ignored it. To make a long story short, on the 4th day she smiled in response to a silly question, "do you want a hotdog?" The staff was astonished that she did this!" The rule of thumb is, if you don't respond after 24 hours of a cardiac arrest, you don't respond again ever.

She went in and out of a coma over the next few weeks and they flew her back home to a acute nursing care facility, from there to a rehab hospital, three months in all. Today she has some short term memory and balance deficit but loves to ride on the back of my Harley. We have put on 10,000 miles over the last few summers and she loves it. She is such a delight and has such a spirit of gladness in her heart and loves to testify what the Lord has done in her life. There is evidence that she is still improving and I am still praying for the completion of her miracle. As a matter of fact, we visited the hospital about a year and a half ago and the social worker there after seeing Sharon said, "this is the first miracle I have ever seen!" The nurse who was in charge of the CCU said, "this has made 23 years of nursing worth while!"

The Lord has given me such grace to love and care for my wife. He also showed me that other than Jesus, my wife is the greatest gift he has given me. Your story is an inspiration to me and I guess countless others. We both serve an awesome God. Please click on the link below, the Rehab hospital uses our story in their brochure.

Be blessed,

Jon Zetts, Sr.
